If
in your case, the homosexual or lesbian feelings didn’t start as a result of
sexual abuse but just curiosity, maybe someone that invited you to prove
something different or you were pushed to this situation due to the lack of a
father and you found protection and security in someone older who offered you a
false “love” but just ended up taking advantage of you. It doesn’t matter how
everything started, I want to tell you this:
IT’S
A LIE! You are not a homosexual.
IT’S
A LIE! You are not a lesbian.
IT’S
A LIE! You are not bisexual.
The
devil has lied to you all this time. Do NOT believe him anymore, the devil
doesn’t have good references for you to trust him.
THE
TRUTH IS: You are a man!
THE
TRUTH IS: You are a woman!
It
doesn’t matter how everything started; if it started with sexual abuse, the
lack of a father, simple curiosity, wrong “friends”, etc. I want you to know
that there is something spiritual behind all of this. There is something
spiritual and that’s why you have noticed that it’s really hard to get out of
it. It takes more than will to get out of homosexuality and lesbianism.
Let
me explain you this. God insists us throughout the Bible to take care of our
bodies.
Do you not know that your
bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received
from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God
with your bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
When
you profane your body (your temple) the Holy Spirit cannot abide there. He
can’t abide in a place inhabited by sin.
So,
what can I do?
Part
of being free is to kick away sin from your temple (your body). You have to cut
from the very root everything that keeps you bound, you have to cut all kind of
“friendship” or relationship that keeps you bound and pushes you to be a
homosexual or a lesbian. And you know what? You are right! YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO
DO THIS BY YOURSELF.
It’s
impossible to make it only by reading this blog. You have to run for help. To
Whom? You have to run for help to someone mature and spiritual enough to guide
you. Only someone who knows God, only someone who has been with God can tell
you what’s in His heart for you. Let me give you a few advices that will help
you get the right help:
1.
Leave
your shame aside! You may feel ashamed of asking for help but I can guarantee
that you’ll feel more ashamed of continuing in the same situation.
2.
Don’t look for help with someone in your same
condition. I’m sure you have seen that it doesn’t have good results. Can
the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit? Luke 6:39
3.
Maybe
you’ll feel ashamed but I recommend you to seek help with someone of the same
sex (a man or woman of God). Only a man can teach you to be a true man. Only a
woman can teach you to be a true woman. It doesn’t matter how wise can someone
be, nobody can teach you to be something that he/she is not. Seek help with
someone that is older than you. Hardly someone with the same level of maturity
as you will understand.
What
will this provoke? This will provoke that the Holy Spirit abides in you. The
true freedom will come. It’ll be like drinking water in the middle of the
desert. Those lustful thoughts will shut up, those emotions you can’t control
will disappear and you’ll be free.
Now the Lord is the Spirit,
and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17.
Maybe
you heard: “When you get out of the closet, you’ll feel free” but be aware that
it will make you feel a slave. The truth is that when the Holy Spirit abides in
you, you’ll be totally free.
I
want us to close with this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned against
you and against my own body. I repent with all of my heart. I know you can
cleanse me no matter how much I have gotten dirty. I believe you died in the
cross for me and that you are my lawyer before God. Write my name in the book
of life. Make me one of your children. Walk with me in this new beginning. Give
me your strength and abide in me. Be my Lord and set me free. Amen”
ONE
MORE THING: Don’t worry about the moments of desperation that will come. God
will give you power and self-discipline over your emotions, your genitals and every
inch of you. Order your emotions,
feelings, etc. to surrender to God.
For the Spirit God gave us
does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy
1:7
Blessed is the one who perseveres under
trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of
life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James
1:12
