DATING THE ENEMY PART 1

What? Me? Dating the enemy? Of course not!

I know many won’t like this article but someone has to say it. Someone has to do the uncomfortable but necessary work.

Let’s start with a series of questions:

Question #1: Are you a son or daughter of God?

If your answer is “Yes”, please continue, if your answer is “No”, please stay here and close this article.

Question #2: Would you date your father’s enemy?

If your answer is “No way”, please continue, if not please stay here and look for help urgently.

Question #3: Do you know who God’s enemies are?

James 4:4 says: therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an ENEMY OF GOD.

Every person that decides to be a friend of the world, its parties, celebrations, wishes, etc. is an ENEMY OF GOD. It’s not only about if this person goes or not to church. It goes further than that, an ENEMY OF GOD is someone who looks like the world, speaks like the world, enjoys the same things that the world enjoys, sees the same thing everyone see, listens to the same things and lives like everyone.

Now, take a minute and think of that person you like or that person you are dating, is he/she a friend or an enemy of God?

If you answer is: “He/she is a good person”. I repeat the question: is he/she a friend or an enemy of God?

If you answer is: “yes, he/she is a christian”, that’s not my question. Is he/she a friend or an enemy of God?

If you say: “he/she is half a christian”. Do not lie to yourself; you can’t be half a friend of God. If you are not with Him, you are against Him. It’s not about what he/she says, what does her/his life say?

You may say: “But Luis, nobody is perfect”. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about what’s in your heart. When you are a friend of God, you fight with every ounce of strength to obey. You fight against your own humanity, against your temptations and against your own sinful thoughts. A FRIEND OF GOD LOVES WHAT HE LOVES AND HATES WHAT HE HATES.

“But what if he/she changes with me? I can help her/him change.

The only thing I can answer to this is: A RELANTIONSHIP IS THE WORST WAY OF EVANGELISM.

Last but not least, I leave the old but true verse:

Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership has righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14.

WHAT WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOUR LITTLE, SWEET AND INNOCENT DAUGHTER WOULD DATE ONE OF YOUR ENEMIES? THAT VERY SAME THING IS WHAT GOD FEELS.
